Tuesday 25th February 2025: 8.00pm

My second co-lecture, as an Industry Expert Guest Lecturer, in February 2025, alongside my Business Manager, Financial Director and Producer, Rushi Munshi (Also my Dad!)

The lecture itself was based on our experience receiving project funding for our theatrical tours at Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, with the latest tour of The Dancing Elephant in 2023, for the MA Literature & Creative Writing students, as part of their Professional Practice module.
The section on my lecture focused on my work as a multi-faceted artist, cultural entrepreneur, and Artistic Director of Ri Ri’s Dance Academy. I also shared my process of generating an idea, nurturing it into reality amongst various other factors. Rushi’s expertise as a bid-writer and Producer positively came into play with well received feedback from various staff members at The University of Salford, as well as the students themselves, with a video testimonial here!

As always, it was a wholesome experience and one which was also inspiring, as the students frantically took notes during the session, eager to learn, fully engaging with the interactive activities with lots of questions at the end, especially about Arts Council England (ACE) funding.
As with the last co-lecturing blog post, yet again, my Dad and I didn’t have time to get a photo together … Hopefully, one day we will remember to do this!

Interestingly, after the last co-lecture, a couple of weeks ago, I headed straight to TEDx rehearsals and during this co-lecture I had one of the fabulous hosts, as a student, during my session!
Another factor which, I believe involves immense and particular divine timing, was how during our lecture, sharing our industry expert insights on public funding, we received some very exciting news about our own funded project … With some news to be revealed soon!
Keep your eyes peeled!

But, just before I sign off, I would like to take a moment to appreciate my journey so far. It feels beautifully surreal that I am now regularly invited to give Industry Expert Guest Lectures at Universities. The long hours of graft, the years of work nobody ever sees and the immense amount of adversities all become worth it … Slowly but surely …
Lots of love,
