Scrolling back to September 2021 always brings a smile to my face πŸ˜„. It was a time when Ri Ri’s Dance Academy and I, Ria Meera Munshi, were proudly featured in the Manchester Evening News πŸ“° for our children’s touring theatre production, 🌈 Sue & Sita 🎊 The article captured an incredible journey, and I’m delighted to share some reflections about that special time.

The concept of Sue & Sita was born during the first lockdownβ€”a period that was challenging for so many, including myself πŸ’. It was through countless Zoom meetings πŸ’» with the wonderful Louise Wallwein MBE that the idea truly came to life 🌟. Those creative brainstorming sessions weren’t just about crafting an engaging theatre production; they were a lifeline that helped me unlock my creativity 🎨 and nurture my mental health during a very isolating time πŸ§ πŸ’•

The story behind Sue & Sita felt close to my heart ❀️, and the production blossomed into something that brought joy, laughter πŸ˜‚, and important messages πŸ“– to children across the region. As someone who was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year πŸ† in 2013 and received the Pride in Hyde award πŸ… in 2019, moments like this remind me why I do what I do. Creativity has always been my driving force πŸš€, and seeing Sue & Sita come to life was nothing short of magical ✨

One of my quotes from the Manchester Evening News (MEN) article still resonates with me every time one of my plays goes on tour; reminding me of how far I have come:

“Now that Sue & Sita is going on tour, it feels surreal, because during lockdown, it was fully under lock and key and we didn’t know what would happen in the future. So now, seeing the show come to life, it’s really exciting!”

If you want to read the full Manchester Evening News article and dive into the details of our journey, you can find it here or explore another feature about the production here. Let me know what you thinkβ€”Sue & Sita is a project I’ll always hold close to my heart πŸ’–πŸŒŸ

Lots of love,
