“The idea of Sue & Sita was conceived during the first lockdown”
Scrolling back to September 2021 always brings a smile to my face π. It was a time when Ri Riβs Dance Academy and I, Ria Meera Munshi, were proudly featured in the Manchester Evening News π° for our childrenβs touring theatre production, π Sue & Sita π The article captured an incredible journey, and Iβm delighted to share some reflections about that special time.

The concept of Sue & Sita was born during the first lockdownβa period that was challenging for so many, including myself π. It was through countless Zoom meetings π» with the wonderful Louise Wallwein MBE that the idea truly came to life π. Those creative brainstorming sessions werenβt just about crafting an engaging theatre production; they were a lifeline that helped me unlock my creativity π¨ and nurture my mental health during a very isolating time π§ π
The story behind Sue & Sita felt close to my heart β€οΈ, and the production blossomed into something that brought joy, laughter π, and important messages π to children across the region. As someone who was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year π in 2013 and received the Pride in Hyde award π in 2019, moments like this remind me why I do what I do. Creativity has always been my driving force π, and seeing Sue & Sita come to life was nothing short of magical β¨

One of my quotes from the Manchester Evening News (MEN) article still resonates with me every time one of my plays goes on tour; reminding me of how far I have come:
“Now that Sue & Sita is going on tour, it feels surreal, because during lockdown, it was fully under lock and key and we didnβt know what would happen in the future. So now, seeing the show come to life, it’s really exciting!”

Lots of love,
