Today, I was delighted to be a Keynote Speaker for the International Women’s Day (IWD) Northern Women in Tax IWD2025 lunch! (And what a yummy lunch it was as well!) 😋 The theme for this years International Women’s Day is #AccelerateAction 🌷

My talk was based on my multihyphenate cultural entrepreneurial journey, where I shared insights on transferable skills and the importance of a growth mindset. It is always incredibly joyful to witness my audience members/students having fun and smiling, during my interactive talks/lectures, as they embark upon learning a new skill (or two!)🕺

As a Manchester based South Asian Indian multihyphenate cultural entrepreneur in the arts and cultural sector, representation is crucial. Speaking at different industry events, such as this one for Women in Tax, allows me to highlight the diverse perspectives and experiences that enrich our communities.
All my keynote talks are interactive, inclusive, and accessible, with a hint of Indian dance, through my Indian classical dance training from the age of five years old, and thought-provoking questions for the audience members. This approach not only engages the audience but also encourages them to reflect on their own journeys and the skills they can develop.
During my talk, I emphasised the importance of transferable skills—those abilities that can be applied across various fields and roles. Whether it’s communication, leadership, or creative thinking, these skills are invaluable in navigating the complexities of today’s professional landscape. I also discussed the significance of maintaining a growth mindset, which involves embracing challenges, learning from failures, and continuously striving for improvement.

Representation matters, especially in sectors where diversity is still emerging. As a South Asian Indian woman, my presence at these events serves as a reminder of the rich cultural tapestry that contributes to our collective success. It’s about breaking barriers and inspiring others to pursue their passions, regardless of their background.
There are some exciting events in the pipeline including more Keynote Speaking events, teaching Indian dance workshops for my Manchester based Bollywood dance company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, and some hush hush news 🤫 which I will share when the time is right! ❤️

I am also very grateful that they catered to vegan food, which made the experience even more enjoyable for me. It’s wonderful to see event organisers being mindful of diverse dietary preferences and ensuring everyone feels included. I am loving the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews as well, more of which can be found on Ri Ri’s Dance Academy’s Instagram page.
Lots of love,
